Parents & Carers

parents-carers.jpg National support for carers

There is a wealth of information and support for carers out there. Here, we list the main organisations that operate at a national level. They seek to support and campaign for carers, and provide information on everything from what to do in an emergency to how to protect your pension entitlement - along with recognition, emotional and practical support.

There are many charities which focus on a specific condition, and offer family support nationwide through a network of local support groups. The Charity Commission lists all registered charities in the UK. Its website offers a "knowledgebase" and free publications (www.charity-commission.gov.uk ) or you can call 0845 3000 218.
